What a lot of Striders! 39 of us turned out at Gosfield School on Sunday 20th October for round 1 of the Ellisons League (formerly NESS, 53-12…). The course was the same as last year – an interesting route through woods, up and down some technical hills, and with a brutal section up and round a field. Different to last year, there were plenty of arrows and tape ensuring we all went the right way!
Conditions seem to be getting “more XC” each week – it was certainly cold, and there was a decent amount of mud. There was good racing and battling throughout the field – plenty of effort from all Striders – well done everyone! Our women’s team finished in third place, and our men’s in fourth – putting us in third place overall. Full results are here: http://www.nessxc.org.uk

There was a good turn out in the juniors race as well – it’s fantastic to see the youngsters shrugging off the cold weather, embracing the mud and getting stuck in! Many thanks to Allison Gillan for doing the scoring, Vicki Robbins for looking after the juniors team, and David Smith for organising the juniors race.
