Is the race chip timed?
Yes like all our public races it will be chip timed.
Where do I get my race number?
Race numbers will be collected on the day prior to the start.
Do I have to be a member of a club?
No, everyone is welcome. if you are an affiliated club member you get a discount on entry.
Is there a maximum age?
No, definitely not. We often have runners in their 80’s take part.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, you must be at least 17 years old on the day of the race.
Can I wear headphones?
No, Under UK Athletics (UKA) rules, in-ear or over-ear headphones that block ambient sound are banned in races held on open roads. Bone conduction headphones are the only type permitted as they do not cover the ear canal. Using forbidden headphones wil lead to disqualification.
Can I run with a dog?
As this event is on open roads this is not suitable for dogs.
Can I run with a buggy?
As this event is on open roads, we do not permit the use of buggies.
Will results be on Power of 10?
Yes all results will be posted on Power of 10, as soon as we are able.
Is there a bag drop?
No, but you are welcome to leave any bags in the village hall at your own risk.
Is there a cut off time?
There is 3 hour cut of time.
Will there be a tail bike or runner?
Yes there will be someone at the back to make sure everyone gets’ around safely.
What is an affiliated entry?
If you are a member of an England Athletics via your running club, then you can get a race discount.
Is the route the same as last year?
Yes, the traditional figure of 8 around Pleshey.
Is there parking?
Yes, please drive to the village hall, where marshals will assist you. parking is on the sports field at the hall. please do not park in the village.
Will there be any prizes?
There are no trophies but there will be Essex medal presentations.
Will there be any refreshments?
Yes, the Village Hall committee volunteers will be providing a range of food and drink. Including a cakes stall. Cash and card payments are accepted.
Can I spectate?
Yes, the race has some great spots to watch from.
