Sunday 16th October saw 14 striders tackle the Chelmsford Marathon and a further 15 run the half-marathon. It was a beautiful sunny day and having run around the centre of Chelmsford it was out to Writtle and then on the lanes to Newney Green. Here those doing the half marathon turned for home leaving the marathon runners to visit Roxwell and Willingale before returning to Chelmsford. Some excellent results with some first time marathon completions, lots of PBs and some very good results for the women. Jackie Stretton won the half marathon with Charlotte Barnard in 3rd. Along with Jessie White, who was 6th, they also collected the team prize for the half marathon. In the Marathon Anna Lees was 2nd (3:23:00) and along with Claire Towell (6th 3:38:28) and Emily Penkett (15th 3:45:47) collected the team prize for the marathon. Great running from everyone!
