It was not only those running Stebbing 10 that had chance to enjoy a perfect autumn day but also those taking part in the The Hobble. A big thanks to Kevin for putting on this annual trail race, with three different distances, so there was something for everyone. As Tim noted, it was quite extraordinary to think that having started from Galleywood the long route ran past Danbury Church. Whereas Sharon, who decided to do the 10 mile route, suggested that the 16.5 mile route was closer to a marathon than not a marathon!
Eight out of the 33 runners that completed the 16.5 mile course were Striders, with Kirsty Williams being the highest placed in 10th and 2nd female. The most popular distance was the 10 mile course with 82 runners including 30 Striders It was a good day for the Striders as they took nine of the top ten places. James Sullivan took the win and Paul Broome wasn’t far behind in 2nd. Finally 45 runners completed the 5 mile course with 15 Striders, Robin Hay was best placed Strider in 2nd.
Well done to all the runners and walkers, as well as saying another thank you to Kevin and Helen, thanks also to Len Clark and Dave Willy for manning the drinks station.
