Triathlon at Springfield Striders

Springfield Striders are a British Triathlon affiliated club this provides the club with: -
  • Access to support from Home Nation BTA staff
  • Club members are eligible for reduced membership fees with Triathlon England.
  • The club is listed on the British Triathlon and Home Nation website and included in the annual Handbook.

If members then want to join the BTA they can receive the following benefits: -

  • Reduced membership fees (above)
  • No day membership fees for race entry (ie reduded race entry fees)
  • Free Subscription to Trinews and the British Triathlon Annual Handbook
  • Worldwide personal accident cover
TRAINING INFORMATION :-

Unfortunately the club does not run training sessions for the swimming and cycling disciplines of triathlon, but with an increasing number of members taking part there are a number of possibilities to learn and develop these skills with other Striders.

Open Water Swimming is a regular feature from April through to September at Gosfield Lake where a number of members attend


CYCLING

A few Striders are members of local cycle clubs including Chelmsford and Essex Roads for specific training

A small band of members also meet at weekends as weather permits, for informal long road rides.

Distances tend to range between 30-60miles (averaging between 15-18mph) for the route

Better the weather the longer the route.
