CARDINGTON CRACKER

Seven Striders were in Shropshire on Sunday for this, one of the last fell races of the calendar year. A favourite race of many, the 14.5k course takes in climbs of The Lawley, Caer Caradoc, the Hope Bowdler Ridge and The Wilderness, 793m of climb. In good conditions Paul Jeggo had another good run, 9th overall out of 250 runners and 1st vet 50 in a time of 1h24m10s. Kirsty Williams (pictured on the exhilarating descent off The Lawley) enjoyed her 2nd fell race, Robin Hay his 1st. Anthony Marsh was 2nd Strider home, 104th in 1h44m17s, with Roger Gooding, Tim Brockington and John Williams also running. The Hadleigh Downs race on New Year's Eve is a good, local chance to try hill running. See the chatboard for details of this, and trips to the hills in the new year.alt Full results are at telfordathleticclub.co.uk/races/cardington-cracker and photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets
