Summer is over!

School is now back in session and so are the races.

On Sunday it was the Langham 10k and 5k and a handful of Striders took part; 6 in the 10k and 2 in the 5k.Due to fault with timing mats, the times are gun to chip.

Chris Burgoyne was first Strider home in a time of 33.40 and third place. He was followed by teammate Tom Cammack in 4th place in 34.47. The 3rd male Strider was Stuart Darney in 45.04. Mark Moughton was the 4th man in 49.23

The ladies were on the light side with only Nicola Pyle 46.28 and Lynn Tanner 50.07 taking part.

In the 5k race we had some winners between the two taking part. David Smith was 1st M60 in 22.14 and Donna Morris 1st F50 in 23.44.

Seven Striders travelled to Newcastle for the Great North Run; a half marathon in the Great Run series and always popular.

Alan Ashton was first male Strider in 1.32, followed by Dan Summers 1.47, Richard Barker 1.51, Chris McCann 2.14 and Matthew Orwell 2.47.

For the ladies, Striders were represented by Liz Irvine in 2.02 and Gail Barker in 2.14.
