Baddow and Track champions

For the Baddow 10 mile race on Sunday there was some early rain but this had cleared by the race start to brighten up and people found themselves running in warm and fairly sunny conditions, with a small breeze. This is always a popular local race around the streets and lanes of Great Baddow on an undulating course. 25 Strider men and 16 Strider women took part.

The first Strider man was Sam Cornforth in 1.04.19 (12th), and with Alex Benson in 13th (1.04.23) and Lewis Patching in 16th (1.04.44), the men won first male team prize.

1st Strider lady was Emily Smith in 1.15, followed by Liz Hall in 1.23.16 and Hilda O’Kelly in 1.23.55.

Also at the weekend, some Striders took part in the Essex Track Championships at Melbourne stadium on Saturday and Sunday and won some medals!

Liz Davies won individual Essex gold in the 3000m

James Smith won individual Essex bronze also in the 3000m

Well done to everyone who ran.
